今天我们请到MOMO老师给童鞋们细讲 托福阅读当中的 Insert Text Questions MOMO老师来给你传授一些 句子插入题的几种解题的无耻技巧
Insert Text Questions
Insert Text Questions要求我们将一句话插入到原文四个空格的其中一个当中，使段落读起来更通顺。
本题型出现在倒数第二道题的位置，在这道题之前我们已经完成了10道题以上，而这道题需要我们插一句话到文章中，这就意味着这句话一定不能够改变原文本来的内容和意思。
另外，我们可以猜测需要被插入的句子应该是原文中本来存在的，而非出题者写的，因此，这种原文本身存在的，去掉又不会影响原文意思的句子，一定是文章中不重要的句子。
而什么样的句子在文章中不重要呢？一般来说，或者承接前文继续解释说明，或者引出后文，或者承上启下的过渡句。
但不要忘了待插入句子本身就是与该段落意思相符的，所以单看句子间的逻辑语义关系来判断的话需要我们好好考究原文中的上下文语境和句子之间关系 。
那么除了常规思路解题外，下面隆重句子插入题的几种无耻技巧。
无耻技巧1
空后有代词they/it的，generally speaking是不对的，代词不能跨距，如果在代词前面加一句话，就会改变代词的指代对象。但是也有例外存在!
无耻技巧2
优先考虑段落末尾的空，注意，我说的是段落末尾的，而不是末尾一个空，有时候末尾一个空在段中。因为放在末尾，本身对文章没什么影响，所以优先考虑这个空。
无耻技巧3
在段落之前的空，必错！因为每段的中心都在句，如果把句改变了，也就改变句意了
那下面我们就来举两个例子

Paragraph 1：Extinct but already fully marine cetaceans are known from the fossil record. ■ How was the gap between a walking mammal and a swimming whale bridged? ■ Missing until recently were fossils clearly intermediate, or transitional, between land mammals and cetaceans.
Paragraph 2：■ Very exciting discoveries have finally allowed scientists to reconstruct the most likely origins of cetaceans. ■ In 1979, a team looking for fossils in northern Pakistan found what proved to be the oldest fossil whale.
12. Look at the four squares [■] that indicate where the following sentence can be added to the passage.
This is a question that has puzzled scientists for ages.
Where would the sentence best fit?
解题思路：
我们铭记这道题，因为这道题十分无耻，根据“指示代词this+名词”的种常规思路，找question的同意概念，有同学看完了四个空，说怎么没有问题的同意概念啊？？！！再好好看看，第二个空之前那么明显的问号在那里！直接选第二个！对，就这么无耻！！
Eg2—TPO2-1
Paragraph 7：■ The raising of livestock is a major economic activity in semiarid lands, where grasses are generally the dominant type of natural vegetation. ■ The consequences of an excessive number of livestock grazing in an area are the reduction of the vegetation cover and the trampling and pulverization of the soil. ■ This is usually followed by the drying of the soil and accelerated erosion. ■
12. Look at the four squares [■ ] that indicate where the following sentence can be added to the passage.
This economic reliance on livestock in certain regions makes large tracts of land susceptible to overgrazing.
Where would the sentence best fit?
解题思路：
依然是根据“指示代词this+名词”的常规思路去前面找economic reliance on livestock的同意概念，运用无耻技巧3排除开始的空，然后看第二个空之前也就是句，有livestock is a major economic activity，直接选第二个。

对于插入题，无耻技巧是辅助我们做题的，是帮助我们排除选项的一种手段，用这方法的时候我们都没怎么好好读句子，所以，选出来之后，一定要回头读一读，是否通顺。
