　　考生： Well, to the best of my knowledge, the most obvious merit is that farmers can produce crops that can grow faster and bigger, and GM crops are resistant to insects and disease, which will help raise food production. And another good point I can think of is that GM foods are more tempting to customers. As for the drawbacks, it's fair to say that GM foods are against nature, and I guess food chains and eco-system could be broken. Finally, since GM foods are man-made, we are not sure whether they are healthy or not.
